November Wine Blog

Yeah, November!!  Time for football, bonfires, and Thanksgiving!

With that being said, let’s pair up some great wines for your Thanksgiving Feast!  I will always hold true to the fact that you should drink what you like so these are just some suggestions.

A dry Rose’ is a great choice to pair with appetizers, ham, turkey and all those great fixings.  The Rose’s usually hit the market in spring but there are still some great ones available.

Alexander Valley Vineyards Rose’ (California)  Great flavors of strawberry, watermelon & raspberry.  $12.99

Toad Hollow Rose’  (California)  aromas of rose & violet lead into beautiful strawberry flavors. $9.99

Another wine that pairs perfect with that Thanksgiving fare is Pinot Noir.  I love so many of them it is difficult to choose but here are a few of my fav’s.

Champ de Reves Pinot Noir (California)  raspberry, blueberry with accents of spice.  If you are on our exclusive email list (if you are not, sign up at any Otto’s, this gives you great deals) you will remember this wine.  It is awesome!  We have it on sale for $29.99 which is a $10.00 savings.

Cambria Julia’s Vineyard Pinot Noir (California)  dark cherry and strawberry flavors.  We have this on sale as well for $18.99

For you sweet wine drinkers, a Riesling is a perfect choice with turkey and ham.

Dr. L  Riesling (Germany)  very crisp and fruity with a soft sweet finish.  $12.99

Monchhof Mosel Slate Riesling Spatlese  (Germany) all I can say is SWEET yum!  $21.99

If you are unsure, please stop in any of our stores and talk to one of our wine managers.  We will be happy to help you with your choices
